DICKENS CHARLES: (1812-1870) English Novelist. A rare, fine A.Q.S., Charles Dickens, one page, 8vo, Devonshire Terrace, 4th October 1845. In bold, dark ink the novelist has neatly penned a nine line quotation which he identifies as being from The Chimes, in full, ' "Here we are and here we go!" cried Trotty, running round the room and choking audibly. "Here! Uncle Will! Here's a fire you know! Why don't you come to the fire? Oh here we are, and here we go! Meg my precious darling, where's the kettle? Here it is and here it goes, and it'll bile in no time!" '. Signed at the conclusion with a fine signature and paraph. Autograph quotations signed by Dickens are extremely rare and desirable. One small, light stain in the lower right corner, not affecting the text or signature. VG
